Cristina Acosta is Director of Environment and Permitting at Lundin Gold, with over 20 years of experience in environmental and social sustainability within the extractive industry and consulting. She has held positions at Enap Sipec, ENTRIX Americas, and Kinross Gold Corporation, and has collaborated on projects with public institutions in renewable energies, as well as with universities in Ecuador. She was a former member of the Environmental Committee of the Ecuadorian Chamber of Mining.
For more than a decade, she has led Lundin Gold’s environmental and permitting strategy, fostering a strong culture of compliance that integrates national legislation with the highest international environmental sustainability standards. Her leadership has promoted environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, innovation in permitting processes, and the creation of shared value with communities and key stakeholders.
She holds multiple master’s degrees in Sustainability, Business Administration, and Quality, Safety, and Environment from Germany, has completed project management studies in Canada, and is a certified ontological coach.
Her vision combines technical rigor with purpose-driven human leadership, positioning her as a recognized leader in corporate sustainability and responsible mining in Ecuador and the region.
