Yeraldin Contreras, P.Eng., is an Environmental Engineer with an MSc and more than 9 years of experience in open pit mining, with professional experience in both Colombia and Canada. She currently works in the mining industry, focusing on water management for mine operations.

Her technical expertise includes integrated mine water systems, water licencing, consumptive and non-consumptive water use, water quantity monitoring, and water balance to support operational and long term mine planning. She has experience applying water management frameworks based on the hierarchy of controls to maintain source water separation, manage contact water, and reduce operational water risk across mining operations. Yeraldin brings an international perspective and a practical, data driven approach to supporting sustainable and efficient mining operations.
