This week, the Water in Mining team is packing bags and making final preparations as we head to Canada, marking the start of a busy and exciting period for our global community.
As the industry ramps up to support the global shift to electrification, the pressure is on to deliver faster, to higher regulatory and social expectations, while minimising impact to the environment. What once was geo-political background noise is now at the forefront of daily operations. Permitting and approval timelines and increasing regulation shifting with government priorities are requiring the industry to respond fast.
We’re very much looking forward to welcoming you to Vancouver next week for our biggest Water in Mining Global Summit to date- three days of real-time collaboration, inclusive conversation and commitment to meaningful change. Bringing together 350+ representatives from 23 countries, the event will provide a vital space to explore responsible mine water management.
It is great to see friendships that have been made through the industry connect at Water in Mining. From technical innovation to community engagement and environmental stewardship, the conversations we’ll have in Vancouver reflect both the scale of the issues and the ambition of the sector to address them collaboratively.
No sooner have we wrapped up in Canada than our focus will shift again, as planning accelerates for our journey to Australia this September. As ever, the strength of Water in Mining lies in its international perspective and we’re excited to continue connecting with our community across regions, projects and disciplines.
We look forward to meeting many of you in person next week or when in Perth for our launch regional event. In the meantime, please enjoy the latest insights, commentary and developments from across the industry — shaping the conversations we’ll be having on the ground and beyond.
