Dr. Ramesh Thiruvenkatachari is a Principal Research Scientist at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). He is a Chemical Engineer and has a Masters and a PhD in Environmental Engineering. He has over 20 years of research experience in water treatment involving development and application of advanced and fit-to-purpose treatment technologies. He has been building a strong collaboration with the mining industry in treating mine impacted water and developing integrated processes for reutilising waste streams, supporting both environmental sustainability and resource efficiency. He also works closely with several Indigenous community groups in applying nature-based water treatment for clean water access. He has several technical Industry reports, authored over 30 journal publications and innovator in three patent families.
