Steve Adamthwaite is the ANZ Water Business Leader at Arup, where he leads planners, engineers, scientists and advisors working across the full water cycle, from strategy, policy and planning through to major infrastructure delivery, helping governments, utilities and industry shape the future of water. He works at the intersection of infrastructure, sustainability and community outcomes, supporting clients to plan, invest in and deliver resilient water systems that create value beyond traditional infrastructure outcomes through resource recovery, decarbonisation, environmental stewardship and community benefit. He is a Peter Cullen Trust Fellow, Chair of WaterAid NSW, and has held leadership roles with the Australian Water Association, Engineers Australia and the World Federation of Engineering Organisations. Steve is passionate about rethinking how infrastructure can deliver greater value from limited resources, creating systems that are not only technically robust, but also socially, environmentally and economically sustainable.
