About Water in Mining Australia

Welcome to Water in Mining: Australia

Launched in 2019 in Toronto, Canada, Water in Mining has grown a strong following and created a global community of professionals dedicated to improving water stewardship, governance, and treatment in the industry. We're thrilled to announce the launch of a dedicated Australian regional edition, taking place at the Pan Pacific, Perth, Australia, 8-9 September 2026.

Our mission has always been bold — to break down silos and drive real, lasting change in water stewardship across the mining industry. That mission has fostered a strong, global community — one we are now proud to extend into Australia, a true mining powerhouse and global leader in sustainable and responsible water use.

This new regional programme will shine a spotlight on the unique challenges and opportunities facing the Australian mining sector. From evolving regulations to innovative treatment technologies and community expectations, we’ll explore practical, region-specific solutions through case studies, panel discussions, and collaborative workshops.

Designed in close consultation with local and regional stakeholders, this highly interactive event will bring together technical experts, Indigenous and community leaders, policymakers, and academia to address responsible water use across the mine lifecycle — from permitting to closure and remediation.

We've seen something really special take shape at our global Water in Mining events — a committed, collaborative community that genuinely cares about driving change. Much of that success has come from the quality of connections formed and the openness to share lessons, challenges, and solutions. Many of our long-standing partners have told us they’d value the chance to build these relationships, demonstrate their thought leadership and be part of lasting change in regional markets and we are pleased to be able to respond and bring this to Perth, Australia, September 2026.
